The Roaring Glory Of Tigers
Since the news of the decline in tiger population has come to the fore , people ’ s curiosity to see them in person and do what is needed if they are to be saved from extinction has grown rapidly worldwide .
The space in Bandhavgarh National Park is the natural habitat of the tigers where they exist in harmony with what nature has to offer . It ’ s only here that one can be lucky enough to see a large group of tigers roaming around freely . You can spot some of them swimming and cooling off in water . After all , it boasts of having the highest density of big and ferocious cats in the entire world . In fact , parks like this are working hard to increase the tiger population .
So if you want to have a better view of the tigers , and add a bit of thrill to your overall experience , you should go for an elephant ride . Otherwise , the four wheelers are always ready to take you around .
However , the timing for both these safaris differs . Jeep safaris start from early mornings and go till evenings , but the ride on an elephant ’ s back can only be scheduled in the early morning .
While the park has these large giants , the visitors can also get a view of the cat family ’ s smallest member called the “ Rusty Spotted Cat .” They are found only in two countries : India and Sri Lanka .
Besides the cats , the park is home to other animals like leopards , wild dogs , Indian bison ( gaur ,) sloth bears , black-faced langur and Sambar deer ’ s as well .
The various species of birds chirping and flying all around will also fascinate you . On an average , there are over 200 species of birds found here including three more parks . Amongst them is the Peregrine falcon , the fastest flying bird in the world , that you can enjoy watching .
