SANDRA HERMANN
Sandra has been living in the UAE since 8 years and has specialised in photography of animals . She has been actively rescuing animals since the age of six . Before moving to the UAE , Sandra was involved with rescuing wildlife back home in Holland and has been into photography , art directing and styling for more than 30 years . Right now she has two cats , both of which were rescued in Dubai . Blanca was rescued from the Satwa area at least five years ago and Assad was rescued from her neighbourhood in Jumeirah . Currently , she has seven more cats under foster care that are looking for a permanent loving family . She strongly believes in word of mouth for getting these animals adopted . She informs people she knows and also speaks to rescue centres and fosterers to help spread the word . She supports the idea of trapping , neutering and releasing ( TNR ) and thinks that it is an absolute necessity to release the animal where it was found , to help them find their way again . She strongly believes in standing up for and helping those who have no voice and this is what inspires her to continue helping her furry friends . HUSSAIN
Hussain is a Bangladeshi expat in the UAE who is an animal lover . He has been involved with animal charities since nine years and has worked with Feline Friends and Friends of Animals . Hussain has 12 pet cats indoors and he feeds countless strays in the neighbourhood . He also has chickens and rabbits . Hussain actively rescues stray and injured cats and fosters them in his home . He also gets stray cats neutered and injured cats treated before finding them permanent homes . He believes in word of mouth to help find these abandoned animals a permanent home . The charities he works with also assist
in spreading the word through their social media pages . Hussain ’ s biggest inspiration has been seeing other people around him helping animals in need . Now he is an inspiration to many .
OMAR
Omar is a local Arab from the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain . He is a pet lover who is actively involved in rescuing and rehoming pets from the streets . He has a two-year-old male cat called Hector . He rescued a seven-month-old blind kitten called Ronan who is in a foster home with his friend waiting to be adopted by a loving family . Lily , a seven-month-old cat is also under foster care with his friend and waiting to be adopted . Omar does his best to help animals . He rescues them and helps finding them a permanent home . “ If I find cat or dog injured or left alone I take them to the vet to get treatment and then advertise about the animals till they get adopted ,” tells Omar . He feels for these innocent creatures who are punished unnecessarily and kept under harsh conditions . They can ’ t speak or defend themselves and he believes it is our responsibility to protect and care for these creations of God . “ When I help animals I feel I am doing something that not only makes me proud myself but my country and family too ,” he says .
