Cotton was surrendered to AACL Epping after suffering a traumatic attack by another dog. On examination, she was a sweet, fluffy little puppy with a heartbreaking leg fracture that required immediate veterinary attention.
Her journey is one of resilience, healing, and hope. Unfortunately, her previous owners were unable to provide the ongoing care and confinement needed for her recovery and made the difficult decision to surrender her into our care, giving her the opportunity to receive the treatment she desperately needed.
Our veterinary team developed a conservative treatment plan using stabilising bandages and six weeks of strict cage rest. Thanks to Cotton’ s remarkable determination and the dedicated care she received at AACL, her fracture healed beautifully, without the need for surgery.
As her strength returned, so did her playful personality. The timid puppy with the broken leg blossomed into the happy, energetic companion she was always meant to be.
It wasn’ t long before a wonderful family fell in love with Cotton. Today, she is thriving in a loving forever home, surrounded by the care and affection every animal deserves.
Cotton’ s story is a reminder that, with compassionate veterinary care and a second chance, even the most difficult beginnings can have the happiest endings.
