Meet Toffee Beanz – the fur therapist who set the SA precedent for dog therapists in the courtroom.
With Toffee Beanz by their side, a young child had the courage to testify during criminal court proceedings, marking a first in South Africa.
Toffee Beanz is a fur therapist at Jelly Beanz, an organisation based in Cape Town that works with children who’ ve experienced trauma. Though the organisation is over 15 years old, in 201 the founder, Edith Kriel, began introducing therapy dogs – or as they call them, fur therapists.
