Unmasking the muzzle

Why muzzle training your dog might be the best decision you make.

Muzzles are one of the most misunderstood tools in my doggy toolkit. A muzzle is a piece of equipment that prevents or reduces a dog’ s ability to bite. That probably makes you immediately think of dangerous and aggressive dogs who can’ t be handled safely... However, even if your own dog has never shown any aggression towards you or anyone else, muzzle training may be the most useful thing you ever do with them. In fact, most muzzles are worn in situations where dogs are anxious, stressed, or in pain and act unpredictably as a result.
