Supporting new youth services with Tulloch Net.

Began: September 2019 No of y.p. 13

Tayside YMCA is a local branch of the global YMCA movement. Tulloch Net formed as a 'fresh expression' of Christianity through Perth North Church to combat loneliness. The YMCA has supported Tulloch Net to initiate and sustain new youth work provision (on a weekly basis) for secondary age young people in the Tulloch area where there has been no youth work for over 5 years. The YMCA has used the funding to provide a pool of 4 sessional workers (2 per session) alongside a Tulloch Net worker. Tulloch Net has now secured their own funding and the Y's input was due to end in Easter 2020.

New service run by SCYD to support transitions to secondary school. Opening of the Hub in Alyth town hall through AYP.

Began: Jun 2019 Jan 20 No of y.p. 76 + 62

SCYD is developing services to support transitions from primary to secondary school in the Blairgowrie area. It has proved popular and it's possible that numbers will soon outgrow the space available. This has led to further development of the partnership with the school. New interest in volunteering has also emerged.

AYP opened a new hub in Alyth's town hall came about through negotiation with the town hall committee. It has attracted more boys more frequently. Careful negotiations have raised hopes that young people will make the space their own in the coming year.

CAYAG began in Coupar Angus to widen SCYD's services to an area where there was no existing youth work offer. The 3-year funding gave SCYD the confidence to try opening a completely new group and employ a new worker. With support from the team at SCYD, CAYAG welcomes the new younger teenagers and primary aged young people that attend. They are aware that some might opt to go to SCYD instead because of its proximity to the secondary school. In the year ahead CAYAG hopes to break ground with this older age group through starting detached work in the area.
