Outcome 1: Security and sustainability with core and programme support

At the start of year two we explored and scoped out extending our work into Auchterarder. This opportunity to expand  primarily came from the fact we had the UYW partnership funding. Doing this during the type of year we’ve had, is remarkable. Opening in Auchterarder means we’ve doubled our staff. The foundation provided by UYW money has given us security, and it helped us raise our profile and bring in money from other funders and local businesses.

Outcome 2: Reduced time on applications and reporting

A good example is the joint Cash Back funding application that allows the partnership to cover the whole of Perthshire and rather than competing against each other we were able to put in a joint bid. Also the sharing of resources has been positive. My fear is people see us as one body and don’t identify with us as individual organisations. I think this quote sums my thoughts up: “we are big enough to make a difference but small enough to make it count”. So we can come together to do joint events, funding applications and share resources. But the areas we work in are all different and we have the relationship with the young people, so we need to retain our local profile.

Outcome 3: Shared knowledge, expertise and resources through structured networking and monitoring

It’s fair to say that these meetings on this scale wouldn’t have happened without the UYW partnership money, that’s been instrumental in bringing us together. Over the past 2 years I think all the partners would agree that we have matured in how we deliver youth work and support each other. The partner only meetings allow us to chat and that helps build relationships, strengthen connections, and share ideas. There’s also the thing that Gannochy and the Council don’t need to know everything that’s going on.

Outcome 4: Increased profile, voice and value from being part of an authority wide collective

Our profile has increased for example doing the joint bid to the Education Youthwork Recovery fund has allowed us to raise our profile in the schools.
