Annual Award: £43,108

Outcome 1: More security and sustainability with core and programme support

A key benefit of the funding and the connections through the partnership is that is has allowed us to diversify from what we offer young people. KYTHE’s focus in year 1 was very much music based the funding has given us the security and confidence to bring in a range of different activities like the arts projects, photography groups as well as trying things we’ve never done before. It's given us the confidence and ability to define ourselves outside something that could be very comfortable and small.

Outcome 2: Reduced time on applications and reporting

In many ways it’s great because Franny [YMCA] takes a lead on [bids for the partnership]. It’s something he has a lot of experience in, and he does well. This comes from the fact that he’s part of a bigger, national organisation and it’s good to have someone we can look up to. However, whilst I admire some of their work there’s times when I’ve looked at YMCA and what they do and said that’s not what I want KYTHE to look like.

Outcome 3: Shared knowledge, expertise and resources trhough structured networking and monitoring

The great thing about the UYWP is knowing we are all looking to achieve a couple common goal and we can draw on each other’s strengths and that brings a sense of comfort. Gannochy have been a great support as well and I have taken the opportunity to meet up with Steven on a number of occasions.

We’ve only had one partners meeting without Gannochy and PKC and I think this links to the question of sustainability as it shows that if the funders aren’t around we have that relationship baseline that demonstrates we can bring value to each other. That said Steven and Brian bring ideas, information and guidance that is really worthwhile.

Outcome 4: Increased profile, voice and value from being part of an authority wide collective

The partnership has allowed us to contribute to youth provision across Perth & Kinross without us losing sight of our own unique profile in a more local area. Being part of a bigger grouping has been especially helpful through the Covid pandemic. In response to a request for funding bid information I began to realise we are part of something new and that you get recognised and more visible, and your profile is raised.
