LET ’ S BEGIN ! 7 . THE ACCIDENTAL TREE ON PURPOSE
Nothing says Christmas like a Christmas tree . So , you can imagine the despair of the Albert family when after a long day and night driving around in the family truck searching for a Christmas tree , they found that all the Christmas trees in town were sold out ! On the long , cold drive home , the father was thinking about how his kids wouldn ’ t be able to decorate a tree that year when suddenly the truck was rocked by a huge gust of wind followed by a loud thunk coming from the back . The father pulled the truck over , the family looked back through the little window and laid eyes on a fresh Christmas tree lying in the truck bed .
6 . FROSTY , THE SNOW WOMAN
In 2008 , a Canadian woman braved a vicious snowstorm to track down some baked goods for her family . When she returned to her parking spot , she found a huge lump of snow where her car used to be . Some grinch of a snowplow driver had buried her car , and now she was stuck . The woman wandered the storm for hours before finally collapsing . Before long , and much like her car , she was completely buried in the snow .
After three whole days of searching , her grief-stricken family nearly called off the search when a rescue dog discovered the woman buried under the snow in a field .
And on Christmas Eve , the woman recovered . Though stricken with frostbite and hypothermia with a body temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit ( anything below 95 is seriously not good ), the snow shielded her from the wind and provided protection from the worst of the cold .
5 . THE LOST AND FOUND DOG
After seven months of canvassing the neighborhood , lost dog posters , and sleepless nights , a heartbroken dog owner feared the worst . Then on Christmas Eve , she received a phone call that would bring the greatest gift of all . Her dog was found that day over 1,300 miles away .
4 . A MIRACLE WITHIN A MIRACLE , OR THE OPPOSITE OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS
Who says you need snow to have a real Christmas ? A couple was driving through the Arizona desert on Christmas Eve when their car broke down . While wandering the wasteland for any sign of help , the couple came upon an old hatbox . Strange . The couple approached the box , tipped over the lid , and discovered to their amazement that there was a baby girl inside ! The couple ensured that the baby was delivered safely to the authorities , and she was soon adopted by a loving family .
3 . THE MEDICAL MIRACLE
You won ’ t find much on miracles in any medical textbook , but that ’ s the only explanation the doctors could agree on regarding the case of the 7-year-old boy with the shattered spinal cord . A cyst had formed on the boy ’ s spine that eventually crushed most of his spinal column and left the boy paralyzed from the chest down . The chances of the boy ever walking again were slim . But just one week before Christmas , the boy felt like stepping out onto his hospital room balcony for a little air and simply hopped out of his wheelchair , walked across the room , and out onto the balcony . The neurosurgeon assigned to the case claims there is no medical explanation for the boy ’ s recovery . And so , we ’ re filing it under Christmas Miracle .
2 . A MIRACLE ON ICE
On Christmas Day in Oklahoma , freezing rain caused a 21-car pileup on the highway . Police , paramedics , and fire trucks raced to the crash , expecting to find a grisly scene . Miraculously , when they arrived , they found that not a single person was injured . Now , that ’ s a miracle .
1 . WAR IS OVER , IF YOU WANT IT
Even amid the inhumanity of World War I , the Christmas spirit proved to be a shining light that can never be extinguished .
British and German forces were engaged in brutal trench warfare in France when on Christmas Eve , some of the soldiers began singing Christmas carols , and to their astonishment , the soldiers on the other side began singing back . German troops then laid down their weapons , walked across the battlefield , and approached their British enemies shouting , “ Merry Christmas !” The British received their enemies with good cheer , and both sides exchanged little gifts and even got together for a little soccer match !
