It is central to our mission of redefining fine jewelry production for future generations that we give back to the earth . This holiday season , we ’ re excited to share with our dear friends and neighbors some fun and earth-conscious alternatives to classic holiday festivities !

1 . DONATE YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE TO AN ELEPHANT !
It turns out elephants are more like humans than you think . Elephants enjoy an active social life , cherish family time , and like us , they enjoy special holiday treats ! Once the Christmas season is over , zoos around the world will accept your leftover Christmas tree and give it to their elephants to snack on . Just make sure your tree is free of pesticides , ornaments , or tinsel .
2 . USE RECYCLABLE GIFT WRAP , OR GET CREATIVE !
Unfortunately , most Christmas wrapping paper is not recyclable , especially those that feature glitter or foil . And it ’ s estimated that nearly 5 million pounds of the stuff is produced each year with nearly half of it ending up in landfills . Not to mention it is usually manufactured overseas , so with international shipping , you can imagine the environmental impact . This Christmas , wrap your gifts in recycled brown paper and get the family together to draw your own holiday motifs on it . Cut the paper into large squares and wrap your gifts in your own homemade gift wrap ! Alternatively , some retailers offer recycled and reusable cloth bags , or you could even use the ugly Christmas sweater you ’ ve got lying around that ’ s just simply too ugly to wear .
3 . SHOP LOCALLY !
We ’ re grateful to be part of such a vibrant community of local artisans , and supporting these craftspeople is vital to our nation ’ s economy . There ’ s nothing like gifting a handcrafted wonder that someone put their heart and soul into . And who ’ s ever lucky enough to receive it will cherish it forever .
4 . GIFT AN EXPERIENCE !
There ’ s no better feeling than the exhilaration of opening gifts on Christmas morning , but the anticipation of that precious moment makes it difficult to think outside the gift box ! Instead of a traditional present , gift your loved ones with a memory that will last a lifetime . Surprise them with concert tickets or courtside seats . Get a weekend pass to a local ski resort or book a holiday sleigh ride . Having a future event on the horizon will extend the Christmas cheer a little longer , and that ’ s the greatest gift of all !
5 . DO SOME CHARITY WORK !
Give the gift of giving this holiday season by volunteering you and your loved ones for a little charity work at a local animal shelter , nursing home , or food bank . The best feeling comes not from presents but from helping others , and giving this gift will make it a Christmas you and your family will never forget !
