My favorite story from the holidays last year isn ’ t any sale or specific guest . I had only just started working here at Perrywinkle ’ s and was still trying to find my footing . The help and support that I felt from the entire team as I hit the ground running , joining the cast of experts here during peak season , was the most positive and welcoming experience I have had with any job . I have so many great memories from the holiday season here at Perrywinkle ’ s ! One of my favorites has been having the opportunity to help a special customer create a full gemstone tennis bracelet for his wife every year . In the past , we have created a full peridot , sapphire , and ruby bracelet , to name a few . My all-time favorite to date , though , was last year designing a tennis bracelet with 51 genuine alexandrites . Alexandrites are one of the most stunning gemstones . They are very rare and have the most amazing color change phenomenon , varying from a greenish blue in daylight to a reddish purple in incandescent light . I enjoy seeing all the unique masterpieces we can create . It is such a rewarding experience ! I love my Perrywinkle ’ s family !

What I am looking forward to the most during the holidays is our toy drive . Two years ago , we collected over 75 teddy bears . Winklette , my manager , and I delivered them to the hospital NICU . You should have seen the smile on their little faces . It meant the most to me .

My favorite memory is when teenagers would save their own money and come in to buy their mom a gift because they know how much she loves Perrywinkle ’ s . I got to know this young man , he comes every Christmas , his name is Lincoln , and he knows how much his mom loves us . He always knows what his mom likes and is very particular in his selection . It makes his final choice even more special because you know it ’ s heartfelt .

My favorite memory must be when I had a customer come into the store with several older rings and loose diamonds from her mother ’ s estate . We sat down and talked about each ring and the memories she had of her late mother wearing them . She decided to make a custom ring out of all of them , and we designed a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece for her . She had tears in her eyes when she put it on . The smile she gave me was so rewarding . That must be my favorite memory .

I was first introduced to Perrywinkle ’ s through the shopping trips and friendship that my mother created with Winklette over 20 years ago .
