And with this pledge comes an ambitious plan to remodel the Perrywinkle ’ s storefront to reflect our commitment to the environment .
Our flagship store is located in the historical and cultural center of Burlington , Vermont , a city embodying the core values of creativity , inclusivity , agility , excellence , and care for each other and our planet that we hold dear .
Known as the greenest state in the nation , Vermont ’ s commitment to the environment is second to none . And we ’ ve taken great strides to become an industry leader in sustainability in contribution to Vermont ’ s vision of a better world .
At our manufacturing level , we use 99 % renewable energy and 100 % recycled materials in the production of our fine jewelry and have opened our doors to a full audit by the Responsible Jewellery Council ( RJC ) to ensure the highest standards in ethical and sustainable sourcing and manufacturing practices .
And as we look towards the future , we envision our sustainable hallmark to extend to our physical store locations .
Our Burlington location will serve as our pilot project to achieve a synergy of our sustainability efforts across all touchpoints .
With our new remodel , our customers will be treated to an intimate , warm , and inviting atmosphere that captures the Vermont feel of sustainability , efficiency , and luxury .
Reverence for fine handcraft and the environment will be communicated in the design and remodeling of our storefront with the use of natural and recycled materials and sustainable building practices .
We are currently researching build materials that are low impact , easy to maintain , and have a permanence that will allow our buildings to evolve and change as our needs change and as new and more efficient sustainability practices come to light .
For the retail space upgrade , we will utilize resources provided by the US Green Building Council ’ s LEED reference guide and take every effort to implement sustainable building practices at every stage of the renovation .
We hope to make use of natural and locally produced materials to inspire in our customers a sense of deep connection to the natural environment , an homage to our home in the greenest state in the United States .
Nature ’ s grand design will stand in luxurious contrast to the refined and impeccably crafted jewelry and timepieces on display .
