Selfridges, The Art Room and 90 Celebrities

One of 2015’s most exciting Art collaborations is currently unfurling at Selfridges, London; 90 celebrities have been asked to redesign the Iconic Ernest Race BA2 Chair… and for the most noble cause possible ‘charity’. An intriguing notion, to invite stars of Art, Fashion and Design to deconstruct and reconstruct a chair, but it seems akin to the very premise of the ArtRoom… inviting children to reassemble thought processes; giving them means to take a deeper look into themselves, to ponder whom and why they are… in effect, to de and re construct themselves… into something more... something greater… to realise their true potential.
The Chair installation was launched at Selfridges, officially, May 19th… with the event running for 6 weeks. All chairs are currently suspended in the Atrium… cascading like a fluidic monument of dreams… of possibilities. To run concurrently to the event, each chair is also available to purchase via the global auction house phenomena that is Paddle8 (.com). This online auction house sells fine art and collectibles across the internet. The chairs of all 90 celebrities will be available for auction from the 22nd of May till the 9th of June.
