It might seem surprising that this venom is used as a medication, but if you remember from last month’s issue, Homeopathic medication are so diluted that there is minimal amount of the substance left in them.

Lachesis treats the following symptoms:

Headaches:

Congestive and pounding pains in the occipital (neck area) or above the eye socket aggravated with heat. Also, a good treatment of sunstroke and heat stroke. Headaches waking patient up from sleep.

Sore Throat:

With dark color tonsils and sensation of suffocation with difficulty in swallowing of liquids, especially if hot, and saliva.

Sinusitis:

Treatment of headaches in the eye socket caused by a stop in nasal drainage causing congestive throbbing facial pain with a feeling of pressure inside the head.

Asthma:

Patient’s symptoms worsen upon falling sleep with feeling of suffocation and constriction. This makes Lachesis a good medication for croup for the child who wakes up from sleep with sensation of suffocation with spasmotic coughing.

Rosacea:

With congested face, dark red lips and purple nose.

Digestive problems:

Loss of appetite, sometimes with nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and painful enlarged liver.

Hemorrhoids:

With dark color veins very sensitive to touch with sensation of throbbing in the rectum.

Bleeding:

Spontaneous bruising under the skin or bruising with the slightest trauma.

Emotional Problems:

Jelousy, bouts of anger, and suspiciousness.

PMS and Menstrual Disorders:

Prolonged and increased bleeding of dark color blood, ovarian pains, or lack of periods for consecutive months causing menstrual pains and cramps.

Menopausal complaints:

Hot flashes, hot sweats, palpitations, high blood pressure, congestive headaches, with the feeling that clothes are constricting, urging patient to take off her clothes.

Infections:

Of the skin, tonsils, with sensation of throbbing and a purple color very painful and sensitive to contact.

Mood Problems:

Talkativeness and excitement at times alternating with depressive mood, mental exhaustion and lack of speech. Patient jumps abruptly from one idea to the next.

Sleep Problems:

Feeling less energetic during the day and highly active at night inhibiting the patient from falling sleep.
