Sleep greatly affects our nervous system. In fact, sleep is controlled by our brains. There is a line of thought, that I greatly concur with, that suggests that neurons need time to repair themselves and get rid of byproducts and toxins generated during a normal day. If we do not rest, these neurons accumulate too much toxicity, deplete all their energy and begin to malfunction. This in turn creates drowsiness, it reduces the amount of concentration, logical thinking, increases stress hormone levels, motor control, mood, and impairs your memory. Depending on the amount of debt you generate it can lead to hallucinations, short term paranoia and accelerated aging.
Take a nap
Considering the amount of sleep we need, the toll it takes in our bodies if we neglect it, and all the compelling evidence of the negative effects from not sleeping, WHY do we still neglect such important part in our life?
Let’s take a step further. Why don’t companies adapt a system to encourage sleeping? Lack of sleep costs the US $100 billion per year in related accidents. Why do we only take naps in kindergarten? We know kids need it, and we force them to sleep in the afternoon. Our reality is that we all need it, not just children. There are some agencies out there that do understand the value of a nap and having a good night’s sleep. For instance, most airports have a lounge where pilots can take naps in between flights. Aviation understands the importance of having a sharp mind and encourages naps. Google, the internet giant, also has also areas dedicated for napping and getting a good rest. A NASA study has shown that a 26 minute nap improved a pilot’s performance by 34% and another study has shown that a 30 minute nap before staying up all night can prevent a significant loss of performance during that night. Considering all the downsides of not sleeping, would you fly on an airplane if you knew the pilot didn’t sleep the night before? Would you undergo major surgery with a doctor that is constantly sleep deprived?
I didn’t think so. It is crucial for your wellbeing and your own sanity to get a good rest as often as you can. If you are a business owner perhaps you would consider allowing employees some free time to allow them to rest. In the end having more productive employees can only benefit you.
Dr. Fresco Sleeping Tips
1 – SCHEDULE SLEEP: Try setting a schedule. Whether you are a late sleeper or an early bird, try to maintain a set schedule. Your body likes routine.
2 – AVOID LIGHT: Your sleep cycle is affected by light. Avoid watching TV or reading on your Ipad while you are in bed. The light from the screens affects your sleep. Also try to keep your room as dark as you can.
3 – EXERCISE: Exercising every day helps you get better sleep. Make sure you do not exercise right before you go to bed or you might end up with the opposite effect.
4 – NO SLEEPING AIDS: Avoid caffeine, alcohol, etc. They reduce your sleeping ability and affect REM stages.
5 – RELAXATION: Try relaxing before you go to bed. A warm bath and soothing music is ideal. Read a book or meditate. This calms your body and your brain activity slows down which makes it easy to sleep.
6- GET CONFORTABLE: Maintain a comfortable room temperature and sleep on a comfortable mattress and pillow.
7 – NAP TIME: Whenever possible take a nap. Napping is a natural process that is needed by most people. Who knows, you might discover the next great thing!

In his case studies he conducted interviews with major celebrities including Andrew Carnegie, The Rockefellers and Thomas Edison. He realized that they all had one thing in common: they were able to transform their sexual driving force to increase their success and potential.
It is not an easy task by any means, but those who are able tend to be very successful. You might be asking how this can be achieved. One of the most effective steps towards transferring sexual energy is to establish a stable monogamous relationship. Your spouse/partner will be the best driving force to help you control the power of sex and deviate it to better use. I am not saying that you should not have sexual relations with your spouse by all means. Having one partner, as I mentioned above, allows you to focus and having relations with your spouse greatly increases happiness and your financial success.
