Unsafe Cooking Fuels and Technologies
THE GOAL
World Central Kitchen will work to introduce environmentally sustainable cooking fuels such as solar kitchens and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) to developing areas where access to affordable technology is limited.
THE PROGRAM
World Central Kitchen launched its Haiti Breathes project in June of 2014. This project targets schools in Port au Prince and surrounding areas to:
Convert their energy dependency from charcoal to liquid petroleum gas
Invest in the equipment and training for 50- 100 schools
Train hundreds of school cooks on food safety and sanitation (Sink to Stove)
Utilize the Chef Network for training expertise
