creativity, the evolution of this concept
saw the birth of The Nest in 2014, where
creatives from different industries would
come together and showcase their
product, art, food, music, and other
talents. Everything, she says, was born
out of an organic need for such a culture
to arise, where different disciplines of art
collaborate and encourage the creatives
to be at the forefront of the budding
contemporary image of Bahrain. Through
events such as Market 338, the predecessor
of The Nest, entrepreneurs who did not
otherwise have platforms to showcase
their talents were given the space to bring
their ideas to the public. That resulted in
many home businesses becoming popular
and soon turning into established brands.
Essentially setting the foundations for the
entrepreneurial culture in Bahrain. Bayan
says it was important for her to choose the
original ideas that revealed the individuality
and uniqueness of the creative person.
This was also a way Bahrain and its talent
was celebrated, Bayan says. Whether it
was a neglected building, or alleys, walls
of buildings, and even the floor, Bayan
