STAFF HIGHLIGHTS
• Jim Weaver, Assistant to the Superintendent for
Business Administration, was certified as a Penn-
sylvania Registered School Business Administrator
by the Pennsylvania Association of School Business
Officials.
• Michael Lawler, Perkiomen Valley High School teach-
er, was selected as an American Geographical Soci-
ety (AGS) Teacher Fellow. He was one of 50 teachers
selected from across the country to participate in
this program.
• Beth Lycosky, Schwenksville Elementary School
teacher, and Chris Squeri, South Elementary School
teacher, presented a session titled, “Improving
Students’ Writing Through the 6 Traits of Effective
Writing” at the Keystone Reading Association (KSRA)
in Hershey, PA.
• South Elementary School was named as a Title I
Distinguished School, which means it was among
the highest 5% of Title I schools based on the per-
centage of students demonstrating proficiency on

the English Language Arts (ELA) and Math PSSA and
also among the highest 5% of schools demonstrat-
ing growth in ELA and Math according to Pennsylva-
nia’s Value-Added Assessment System (PVAAS).
Dan Pennebacker, Perkiomen Valley High School
teacher, was honored by the Rochester Institute of
Technology because of the inspiration he provided
to PV graduate Tessa Njissen, who attends RIT and
selected Mr. Pennebacker for the recognition.
Evergreen Elementary School was one of 300
schools in the state to implement a School-Wide
Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (SWP-
BIS) program with 100 percent fidelity.
Superintendent Dr. Barbara Russell was selected as
the Keynote Speaker for the PV Chamber of Com-
merce’s Annual Meeting.
The following employees received doctoral degrees:
Naomi Bowen, Perkiomen Valley Middle School East
teacher; and Tara Parr, Technology Integration Coor-
dinator.
