• Perkiomen Valley High School senior Aaron Yeiser won second place in the prestigious national Regeneron Science Talent Search held in March. Aaron was one of 40 finalists chosen to compete at the national level, where he shared his project with the public and judges. Aaron’ s project,“ A Next Generation Partial Differential Equation Solver,” provided a new method for solving differential equations that promises to increase the efficiency of numerical simulations. These simulations are used in science and engineering to model structural stability, heat transfer and electromagnetic fields. Aaron was awarded $ 175,000 for his second place finish in the Talent Search.
• Kira Brice, Bradley Delaney, Anne Glodek, James Haasis, Maura Jaeger, Rose Lapiska, Zachary Love, Casey McMullin, Vibhuti Mishra, David Nielsen, Paul Torrillo, and Alexander Wirth were named Commended Students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program.
• The Perkiomen Valley High School Girls Cross Country Team won the Pioneer Athletic Conference Championship, went on to win the District 1-AAA Championship, and placed third in the PIAA State Championship meet. Team member Annie Glodek finished fifth in

the state championship meet and won her third consecutive Individual PAC Cross Country Championship this year as well.
• Perkiomen Valley High School tennis players Jasmine Morris and Allison Newman won their second consecutive Pioneer Athletic Conference Championship in Girls Tennis Doubles.
• The Perkiomen Valley High School football team finished the season as Pioneer Athletic Conference Champions with a 12-1 record. In addition, team members Stephen Sturm and Justin Jaworski were named as the Pottstown Mercury’ s Football Co-Players of the Year.
• South Elementary School was selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a Title I Distinguished School, and was formally recognized at the 2017 Title I Improving Schools’ Performance Conference on Jan. 30. Title I Distinguished Schools are selected based on achievement and growth data as measured by the PSSA, as well as on participation and graduation / attendance objectives. Only 179 schools across the state are selected to receive this designation.
• Perkiomen Valley Middle School student Matthew Levin raised over $ 1,700 for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit’ s Hearing Support Program. Matthew took an immediate interest in a fundraising event called the“ Walk 4 Hearing” after being introduced to it by IU teacher Jill Christopher.
• Perkiomen Valley High School Girls Distance Medley Relay Team won first place in their event at the 2017 Pennsylvania Track and Field
Coaches Association Indoor State Championship. At the same event, teammate Christina Warren placed third in triple jump, fourth in hurdles and seventh in long jump at the same meet.
• Perkiomen Valley High School student Patrick Davis won a“ best of show” award in the Best Fresh Design category of the Pennsylvania Farm Show’ s Agricultural Education Horticulture competitions. Only five“ best of show” winners are awarded in this category. Patrick also received first place awards in Miniature Succulent Garden and Hospital Arrangement categories, as well as a fourth place award in the Living Wreath for a Table category.
• Lillian Miller, an eighth-grade student at Perkiomen Valley Middle School East, won a first place award at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Fair. Lillian conducted a micro-biology research student titled“ Microfiber Pollution and Microbial Microenvironments”.
• The Perkiomen Valley High School Boys Basketball Team won the Pioneer Athletic Conference Championship. The team also went on to compete as the Number 1 seed in the District 1 Tournament, won a PIAA Class 6A Tournament game, and went on to a state semi-final game.
• Alumni Nick Steinman and Peter Dingley donated works of art to the permanent art collection at Perkiomen Valley High School.
• Perkiomen Valley Middle School East student Gabby Vullings, a competitive dancer with On Edge Movement Dance Company, won multiple awards with her team in jazz, musical theater, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary categories.
• 32 Perkiomen Valley High School students graduated from the Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week program – making our high school one of those with the highest number of graduates in the state.
