PERSONAJES PA N A M Á W hat ’ s N ext for C asco A ntiguo 2018 T he beginning of the year is the best moment to put ourselves in a balance and look forward . F or that reason we give you an overview of the stores : changes , incorporations , and projects in the district . T here are still many things to come . Casco’s Bright and Dark Sides Another year in Casco Antiguo has come to an end. No doubt it was a difficult but a beautiful one in this place full of contrasts. Unlike others might think, nothing here is given away to businesses. It is necessary to be extremely good at the craft you wish to develop: having the exact insight, being in the accurate place, and taking several other consu- mers to those areas, in order to succeed. It can happen. In Casco, like nowhere else, customers demand quality, optimum service, and exclusiveness. They come here looking for what other places can’t offer: different colors mixed in a full-of-history, classy-flavored cocktail. Do not get us wrong. Those who have started the journey in Casco An- tiguo love it: its restrictive small-island character, its many historical cor- ners, and its great amount of foreigners –who bring multiculturalism and exoticism to the city.- There is no more of an intense experience as being part of this old town. Casco Stores: What is to Come? More than 220 stores prevail: hostelry, businesses, banks, and housing agencies. Despite of the well-known crisis, most of them had a great year, being notably successful. We keep enjoying and benefitting from banks, housing agencies, and hotels, like the new one called La Concordia. Among other hostelry branches we have Casa Ajena, Citrus Café, Crazy by Jessua, Las Clementinas Bistró, the emblematic Jerónimo, Kakash, La Champañería, Los Cuatro Tulipanes, Puerta de Tierra and Fashion Clean laundry. Also, there were many other recently-opened stores, such as Ay Mi Ne- gra, Stick House, and Rass ice cream shops; Piso V rooftop, Casa Bruja brewery, Strangers Club, ‘t Bier Klooster, Santana, El Social, Amici Miei, The Pink Panther, Papaya Planet, La Tana disco, and Calle 9 club. Also, FineArt’s art gallery, San Felipe Large and Dekel Holdings hou- sing firms, Glidden’s, Casa Thai spa house, Tajada de Sandía —a surf, sk8 y SUP shop— , and Il Mercatino and Selina Embassy clothing stores. That shows us there’s not a secret formula for success. Casco Antiguo is expanding and growing in many aspects, and above all, diversifying with its astonishing creativity. There are venues that wouldn’t make sense but here. That’s the very spirit of Casco.
