Percussion Class
The curriculum for the class focuses on technique and musicianship on a
variety of percussion instruments, including mallet keyboard, timpani,
and auxiliary. Percussion class meets for ninety minutes every day
within a four-period block schedule and typically performs 2 concerts in
the fall semester. The literature for the ensemble typically ranges from
grade 4 to grade 6. The Percussion Class meets fourth period during the
fall semester. Percussion students will then be included into the Concert
band, Symphonic Band or Wind Ensemble in the spring semester.
Placement is based off of semester-long evaluation.
Pre-requisites: Middle school band experience
