Early years provision
Nearly one fifth of the student population in
Dubai’s private schools is currently enrolled
in the early years. It is a well-researched fact
that children’s well-being and development at
present will affect the kind of individuals they
will become in the future.

Every year, DSIB specialised inspectors report on the quality of provision in Dubai’s early years
programmes. Inspection findings indicate that there have been significant improvements in
children’s progress in mathematics, English and science. There were also improvements in the
quality of curriculum design and modification, teaching, learning skills and assessment. These
improvements were more evident over last two years of inspection.
The graphs below illustrate the significant improvements made in Dubai private schools’ early
years programmes since 2008, in the quality of learning skills, teaching, assessment and
curriculum.
