The first unknown person who‘ locked’ his / her love for another as a romantically symbolic gesture, then tossing the key into the River Seine, seemed to be a beautiful thing to do. All those who copied the idea? Well, you know.
Having been fastened onto the bridges of Paris since 2008, and particularly onto the“ Pont des Arts”, by couples from all over the world who threw the key into the Seine, the love locks became too heavy, putting the structures holding them in danger. As a result, the City of Paris is now inviting lovers to show their affection in other ways.

Launched in 2015, the LoveLockBank. com site offers romantics the world over a simple, alternative way to keep these tokens of affection, which can even be immortalized in a souvenir video, right in the heart of Paris.
The Pont Alexandre III is considered the most beautiful bridge in Paris, spanning the River Seine. It connects the Champs-Élysées quarter with those of the Invalides and Eiffel Tower. The bridge is widely regarded as the most ornate, extravagant and opulently decorated bridge in the city.
