THE INSPIRATION & PLANNING This Ontario couple envisioned a romantic ceremony on the bluffs overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Muted traditional Mexican patterns and wooden chairs gave an organic feel to the design of this wedding, which was punctuated with pops of teal and pink. Colorful, fun, elegant & intimate- these are the words that Michelle used to describe her initial inspiration. Working with a fun color palette was an important element of the decor. We selected very nice base patterns as accent decor for table runners and napkins and we worked with the talented Elena Damy to create the dreamiest floral arrangements. The result was exquisite!
We wanted an intimate wedding as Michelle’ s father is no longer present. Plus with our budget we wanted something extravagant for the people who were willing to attend our wedding and we also wanted to make it special for the ones who matter the most to us. Greg and I choose Esperanza because of the dramatic backdrop of the rocks with the visible waves crashing in. We had fallen in love with the three tiers out from the lobby and could never turn our eyes from this. Greg was very involved with choosing the colors and décor. Michelle always wanted a luscious bouquet of flowers and chose pink and corals to go along with our destination wedding.
The main challenge we experienced during the wedding planning process was the difficulties of hotel renovations after hurricane Odile. The main ceremony area we had confirmed was not ready for the wedding date. After close analysis of our options, we were offered an amazing spot at the resort. We got a very private and beautiful setting on the most exclusive terrace of Esperanza. The ceremony setting couldn ' t have been couldn’ t be more intimate or romantic.
