INTRODUCTION This e-book is the tangible product of a joint project of the Junior High School and the Museum of Farm Life of Roviano. The main aim of the project has been to build a bridge between the local historical and anthropological heritage and the young generations. In the first place, homage has been paid to the local primary teacher Artemio Tacchia, who with his pupils, first collected and catalogued the objects in the museum over many years, and paved the way to the first exhibition open to the public in 1980. Almost forty years later, the stakeholders of this project have intended to add a new dimension to the work undertaken previously. First, the project was not intended as a nostalgic celebration of the museum and the history it represents: it aimed at making teenagers aware of their roots, while also sowing the seeds of social and personal awareness, by asking what meaning, if any, such a museum could have for young people and society at large, given that technology has replaced much manual labour and reduced or eliminated the toil it entailed.
