Phase Two Training
Following completion of( M) IOT, you will be assigned to your first role prior to your next phase of employment training.
The People Operations Foundation Course for Officers’( POFCO) is delivered as a modular training package using a blended approach, utilising Microsoft Teams to deliver remote instruction followed by a residential phase. The training is delivered at the Defence College of Support( DCSp) at Worthy Down, near Winchester. The course is 4 weeks long and contains several role related modules. These subsequent professional training modules prepare you to deliver in specific roles within the People Operations profession.
The training is scenario-based and covers the People Operations Officer’ s role on a RAF station and on overseas operations, developing your knowledge and skills to support you in your initial roles. On completion of the course, you will gain an understanding of the mainstream People Operations Employment Fields of People Enablement, Infrastructure management, Media Communications and Military Training.
Following the POFCO phase of professional training, you will then undertake Employment Field training to prepare you for your first role as either a Training Specialist Advisor or as a Station Adjutant.
First Tour
Your first tour may be as a Station Adjutant on a RAF Station providing direct support to the Station Commander with the day-to-day running of the base. Alternatively, you could be employed as a Training Specialist Advisor, developing programmes of activity to get the best from individuals or teams ensuring that training is both effective and efficient and directly supports the operational requirements.
During your first, and subsequent tours, you will have the opportunity to deploy to almost any location worldwide as the officer with responsibility for personnel, training, media communications or financial matters supporting an operational or exercise task.
