echnology has always played an important role in
business operations, which includes improving
effi ciency, increasing accountability, reducing
errors, and enhancing communication. It is imperative
to give businesses an edge over their competition in a
continuously globalizing world. But of late, the size and scale
of improvements have changed the role of technology in
business from a means to an end, to a powerful, infl uential
force in its own right.
The world of technology is continuously evolving, often
outpacing the capacity of human beings and industries
to predict where it’s going, let alone allowing them the
time to catch up. Just thirty years ago, computers were a
