“W
hat is the future of HR…does
HR have a future?” These
are a couple of interesting
question my team often asks. There was a
time when business seemed to be stable,
predictable and so was the HR fi eld. Though,
now things have changed big time; there
are incredible number of pressures that
organizations face today such as globalization,
digitization, demographic shifts, economic
uncertainty, changing lifestyle, erosion
of brands, dynamic workforce etc. Within
these pressures, there is a clear need for
the HR function to play a critical role in
helping organizations navigate through these
transitions and transform themselves in a
new world of work.

All the concepts in Human Resources that
were designed for the world of yesterday, are
going to become obsolete over time because
work will be distributed very differently.
Organizations have already started to replace
the classic performance management systems
with more frequent check-in and coaching
discussions but this is only the beginning. All
the interventions that we use in HR will need to
be redesigned and this redesign will be based
on employee-centric view point.
