Susan E Bare, PhD(c), CNM, RN, is an instructor at York College of Pennsyl-
vania in the Stabler Department of Nursing. She is completing her doctoral work at
the University of Pittsburgh, School of Nursing. Her area of interest is maternal-
child healthcare, including the predictors of relapse to smoking for postpartum
women.
Annette DeVito Dabbs, RN, PhD, ACNS-BC, FAAN, is a professor and senior
nurse scientist at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Nursing. The focus of
her work is development and testing of interventions to promote self-management
behaviors in persons with cardio-pulmonary conditions. She leads an interdisciplin-
ary team to develop and evaluate a suite of mobile technologies for patients and
web-based technologies for clinicians to facilitate partnerships in the management
of illness. Her work has been funded at the federal level and disseminated widely.
Susan M. Sereika, PhD, is a full professor in the School of Nursing with second-
ary appointments in the Departments of Biostatistics and Epidemiology in the
Graduate School of Public Health and in the Clinic and Translational Science
Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. She is also the director of the Center
for Research and Evaluation in the School of Nursing. Dr. Sereika has served as
co-investigator/statistician on numerous externally funded research projects in nurs-
ing, medicine, and in health psychology.
