Translating RESEARCH to INNOVATIONS in Practice 2020 FOURTH ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM KEYNOTE PRESENTATION “Integrating age friendly care in delirium assessment and prevention: A person-centered approach to care” Dr. Donna Marie Fick is a Distinguished Professor at The Pennsylvania State University College of Nursing, Elouise Ross Eberly Endowed Professor of Nursing, and Director of the Penn State Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence. Her area of research has focused on two critical issues in the care of older adults: medication use in older adults and delirium superimposed on dementia (DSD). She is a member of the interdisciplinary panel for the American Geriatrics Society Beers Criteria (AGS) for inappropriate medication use in older adults, and serves on the American Geriatrics Society Board. She also serves as an expert faculty member and coach on Creating an Age Friendly Health System Initiative funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation and led by the Institute of Healthcare Improvement. Dr. Fick was a past member of the NAS/IOM Committee on the Public Health Dimensions of Cognitive Aging, which released a report in 2015 on Cognitive Aging, and she currently serves on the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine Forum on Aging, Disability and Independence.
