I was asked at a meeting of the
American Student Dental
Association (ASDA) several years
ago my definition of a successful
dentist. The simple answer was a
successful dentist is one that has
never treated a patient that he/she
didn’t know first. Communicate
with your patient regarding their
treatment needs and their ideas on
how best to achieve and maintain
their dental health. Involve them
in your mutual decisions and
always keep one eye on the ethical
principles that define our
profession when dealing with
challenges in your practice.

The Fiftieth Annual Meeting of the Pennsylvania State Dental Society, held
at Wilkes-Barre, marked an epoch in the history of this organization, in fact,
was one of the greatest events in the history of dentistry in Pennsylvania.
