Wedding Bells! Congratulations to the Happy Couples Mallory Coquoz (1996-2003) on her recent engagement to Matt Baureis Donald MacKinnon (Class of 2008) on his engagement to Clare Dallas-Ross. Robert Hughes (1997-2005) on his engagement to Shawna Davis. A great way to cap a dream trip to Europe. Kristin Johns (2004-2006) on her engagement to Tyler Sojka. Kristin is a commissioned officer in the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. Nina Cristiano (Class of 2017) decided to take a gap year before starting her Environmental Science degree at University of Exeter. She is currently living in Peru, volunteering at the Rainforest Awareness Rescue Center (@RescueParks) in the Amazon. That endeavour will be followed by a trip to Costa Rica where she will conduct research on turtles, sharks and rays. We love that she is representing Lightbourne house on her journey! Alumni Garden Eduardo Vazquez (Class of 2006) on his wedding at Tupper Manor, Beverly, Massachusetts Felicia Taylor (Class of 2011) on her marriage to Andrew Pajakowski in Costa Rica. Anastacia Bethel (Class of 2007) on her marriage to Mohammad Namazi. Callie Pikramenos (1995-2004) on her recent engagement to Jacob LeBlanc, which took place in the most “magical” of places— Disneyworld Congratulations to Natascha Vazquez (Class of 2008), Programming Manager at The Current at Baha Mar and a recent graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design’s (SCAD) Painting MFA programme. Natascha recently sold all her paintings from her VOLTA NY debut to SCAD’s permanent collection. SCAD continues to add Bahamian art to their collection, with plans of circulating works between their campuses in Atlanta, France and Hong Kong. This year, LCIS welcomed two new honorees to a very special group of family members who have a long history with the school. On Founders Day in 2015, LCIS started a new tradition to connect alumni families with the school by planting lignum vitae trees and creating the Alumni Parent garden. Lesley Turnquest (née Lewis) attended LCIS from 1989–2001 and was one of the first ever Grade 10 students. She received a plaque from her sons, Aiden and Kie, who joined Kindergarten and Preschool this year. Happy Hall attended LCIS from 1997–1999. His son Soren, who joined our youngest group of students in Preschool this year, received the plaque on his father’s behalf. Caroline Dunn (1995-2003) on her engagement to Jeff Pease. 26 27 Candilaria Thompson (1985- 1993) decided to follow her creative side with the launch of her new company @DesignCandi, specialising in calligraphy and letter writing. She is now producing work for the top event planners in the Bahamas and around the world, as well as exclusive venues such as Baha Mar.
