combine with this schedule the four components of the CP core , tailored to their own career path . Together , these elements help students to develop the communication , critical-thinking and personal skills needed for success in the 21st century .
LCIS has implemented the Career-Related Programme in response to the academic interests and career goals of its students as well as to the unique environment the school calls home . The CP at LCIS includes options for students who want to pursue studies or a career in architecture , aviation , business , construction , engineering , entrepreneurship , finance , information technology ( IT ), music , photography , scuba diving or yachting .
LCIS launched its Career-Related Programme in Fall 2018 with two students eager to take on what they perceived as a “ one-of-a-kind curriculum ” and a chance to pursue their passions while earning a valuable credential . One of those students , Jostin Wilson ( Class of 2020 ), conveyed his relief at having the option of choosing the CP for his final years of school , which meant he would have flexibility and handson support to develop skills in his chosen field of music production . He would also develop the

business and social skills needed for success . When asked about his decision to take the CP pathway to graduation at LCIS , Jostin expressed appreciation for the opportunity to tailor his learning to his specific needs and interests : “ I am grateful that I decided to spend my last two years of high school as part of the Career-Related Programme . While it can be tough to keep up with the workload of a senior in the IB programme , I have gained skills that I do not believe I could have acquired anywhere else .”
Once he realised how the CP engaged his passion for sport and gave him new perspectives of immediate use to him , he was thrilled with his decision . He was soon “ more comfortable and relaxed because I was learning more about a topic I love .” Camrawn is particularly pleased with the real-world skills he has developed and his new-found comfort in an interview setting , which he believes will play a crucial role as he continues his journey through life . Camrawn said he would recommend the CP to other students because “ it really gives you the push to succeed by indulging what you are truly passionate about . I will continue to use the tools that [ the ] CP has taught throughout my life , and I am blessed to say that I am a proud graduate of LCIS and the CP .”
In the fall , Jostin Wilson will attend the University of New Haven to study Music and Sound Engineering and Camrawn Cox will attend Humber College to study Marketing and Communications .
Camrawn Cox ( Class of 2020 ), the second student to choose the CP pathway at LCIS , admits that he was hesitant at first to jump on board the brand-new programme . His love of and talent for football led him to his career interest in coaching .
