Let’ s Practice Making SMART Goals

A GENERAL goal:“ My goal is to be healthier”
An example of a SMART Goal is:“ My goal is to do at least 30 minutes of cardio / treadmill a day at the YMCA, 3 days of the week for the next 2 months.”
❏ Specific: how long the activity is, how often, the effort / intensity, location, type of activity
❏ Measurable: track 3 days of the week, 30 minutes each of those days, for 2 months
❏ Achievable: 3 days instead of all 7 days to start is much easier for some, having a gym membership
❏ Relevant: physical activity is a very important part of feeling healthy
❏ Time-specific: you will do it for 2 months, 3 days out of the week, and 30 minutes each time
