Shuttle’ s Industrial Edge PC Series
The growing demand for intelligent, connected systems is driving computing power ever closer to where data is generated. In manufacturing, retail, transport and digital signage, edge computing enables data to be processed locally for lower latency, improved reliability and real-time responsiveness.
Shuttle, a long-established manufacturer known for compact and reliable computer platforms, has developed the Shuttle Edge PC Series specifically for industrial and automation environments. These fanless systems combine robust aluminium enclosures with a footprint of just 120 × 75 × 51 mm and are designed for continuous 24 / 7 operation. With flexible VESA and DIN-rail mounting, they integrate easily into control cabinets, behind displays or within machinery.
The Edge PC line-up currently includes four models sharing the same compact design but offering different capabilities. All are based on Intel Elkhart Lake or Atom x6000 processors and support up to 32 GB DDR4 memory. Dual 2.5-Gbit Ethernet, USB 3.2, a serial COM port and digital I / O provide the necessary interfaces for automation, control or monitoring tasks in demanding environments.
With flexible VESA and DIN-rail mounting, they integrate easily into control cabinets, behind displays or within machinery.
The series covers a wide range of industrial scenarios. The SPCEL02 serves as a general-purpose solution for IoT gateways or data logging, while the SPCEL03 variant is specified for extreme temperatures between – 20 ° C and + 60 ° C, ensuring reliable operation even in harsh industrial or outdoor conditions. The SPCEL12
model focuses on digital signage and multi-display applications, supporting up to three screens via two HDMI and one DisplayPort output. The latest addition, the SPCEL02P, introduces Power-over-Ethernet( PoE), allowing the system to be powered directly through the network cable – ideal where space or access to mains power is limited.
All Shuttle Edge PCs share a modular design with two M. 2 slots for storage and expansion, enabling configuration with Wi-Fi 6, LTE or AI accelerator modules such as the Hailo-8. Compliance with MIL-STD- 810G and EN 50121-3-2 standards underscores their industrial reliability, while a hardware TPM 2.0 module ensures secure boot and encryption.
With their compact size, versatile connectivity and proven Shuttle quality, the Edge PC Series provides a practical foundation for modern automation, surveillance and smart infrastructure projects – delivering reliable computing power exactly where it is needed: at the edge.
