This June , the NEC Birmingham will host the much-anticipated Smart Manufacturing & Engineering Week ( SM & E Week ) 2024 , offering an expansive educational program across two engaging days . Scheduled for the 5th and 6th of June , this event promises a deep dive into the future of manufacturing and engineering , with a particular emphasis on digital transformation and technological integration .
SM & E Week 2024 incorporates two summits and eight education theatres , each aimed at addressing critical needs and innovations within the industry . The Manufacturing Digitalisation Summit and the Industrial Data and AI Summit will bring together thought leaders and industry experts to discuss the evolving landscape of manufacturing technologies and data-driven strategies . These summits will feature a robust schedule of keynote presentations , panel discussions , and roundtable sessions , designed to foster in-depth understanding and peer-to-peer learning .
In addition to the summits , nearly 150 free-to-attend sessions will be available across the eight solution theatres . These theatres cover a range of topics , including Digital Transformation , IIoT & Connectivity , Industrial Data & AI , Innovation , Maintenance , Drives & Technology , Air-Tech Solutions , and Fluid Power & Systems . The educational content is curated to ensure it addresses the vast spectrum of challenges and opportunities within the manufacturing and engineering sectors .
Highlights from the educational theatres include presentations from industry leaders such as Neelofar Ansari from BAE Systems , who will discuss Human Augmentation in manufacturing environments , and Roy Haworth from Airbus Defence & Space , who will delve into the use of CAD data for data fusion and 3D visualisation . These sessions are designed not only to inform but also to inspire attendees to implement innovative solutions within their operations .
