Packaging Innovations and Empack returns to Birmingham ’ s NEC
Packaging Innovations and Empack 2022 will bring together the industry when it returns to Birmingham ’ s NEC on 25 and 26 May . Leading exhibitors from across the entire packaging spectrum will display their cutting-edge designs and products , with guests able to get hands-on with a broad range of technologies and systems designed to help assist their packaging requirements .
NEW INNOVATION
The event will feature a sold-out exhibition floor , with many exhibitors launching their latest innovations live at the event .
The Label Makers will display its range of sustainable label solutions , including those for recyclable bottles . The bespoke service is aimed at delivering the strongest on-pack message , to ensure maximum shelf standout .
Expac will promote its wide range of bottles , tubes , jars , and glassware , designed for use in the personal care and household sectors . The company has invested in its sustainability credentials , by developing a range of bag-in-box refill products which house a variety of common food products , such as oils , emulsions , and liquids .
Epson ’ s Colorworks range of desktop label printers will also be featured at the show . The printers can be used for several procedures , including food and drink labelling , pharmaceutical and shelf labels , chemical , horticultural , and badge labelling . The C6000 series offers up to 4-inch print widths , with the C6500 offering up to eight inches . The C7500 model can produce a wide range of media , including continuous tickets , fabric labels , and synthetic die-cut labels , with a matte or gloss finish .
Also present will be Excel ’ s EX-FILL-S semiautomatic volumetric filling machine . The technology is suited to a busy production environment , where flexibility , accuracy , and rapid changeovers are required . Volume and flow rate is electronically controlled , with a fill accuracy of +/ - 0.5 %. The machine

is fully upgradable , with automation options including conveyors , capping , rotatory tables , and labelling machines .
EVENT FEATURES
The Packaging Innovations and Empack 2022 seminar programme will run across three stages , demonstrating the event ’ s commitment to address the plethora of issues currently affecting the industry . The Empack Technology stage will feature content specifically for manufacturing , processing , and logistics professionals , whilst the Innovation and Design stage and the Ecopack stage will focus on the latest developments in packaging technology , with a specific focus on sustainability .
Further to this and in association with OPRL , the Ecopack Challenge will make its longanticipated return , with innovators pitching their cutting-edge solutions to a panel of judges including Ocado and Pret A Manger . Also , The Big Debate will tackle the latest challenges in packaging regulations and assess whether these guidelines will have a positive impact on reducing waste and improving recyclability .
