The golden history of British manufacturing

MACHINING & MACHINERY PROUDLY CELEBRATING 50 YEARS

NEWARC
The golden history of British manufacturing
The landscape of British manufacturing has changed phenomenally over the last 50 years – in ways that few could have foreseen . Gone are the days when welders were given a glass of milk to counteract the negative effects of inhaling welding fume , tinted goggles have been replaced with full face shields , and some aspects of the craft have even become completely automated . The 1970s was the decade that saw the introduction of inverter-based technology - a giant leap forward in the designs of semi-conductor technology - which led to transformers becoming smaller , lighter , and more efficient . This in turn allowed welding machines to be more portable and cost effective . As the topography of the industrial world has evolved , Newarc has evolved alongside it , offering welding solutions built to withstand the everchanging challenges around us .
A lot might have changed in the 50 years since Newarc opened their doors in the North of England , but the quality and core British values behind their welding machines hasn ’ t . These are qualities that Newarc is proud to have been able to share with patrons all over the world to construct bridges , pipes , offshore jackets , vessels and even a flagpole for the Eurovision contest in Baku , Azerbaijan ! Their robust design , high duty cycles and ease of use mean that you needn ’ t replace your Newarc machine every few years , its technology and durability will see you through the decades , just like the brand itself has .
Newarc is proud to be the leading UK manufacturer of welding equipment and is delighted to be a recent member of the Made in Britain organisation which supports and actively promotes British manufacturing . Every machine carries the Made in Britain mark which represents a standard of quality and unity for the British manufacturing sector within the UK and around the world .

wealth of knowledge and are continuously working to further enhance existing models but also bringing to market new models to complement the current range . As an SME manufacturer the production facility is highly flexible and can offer bespoke designs to meet customers ’ specific needs . Within the new premises there are now newly installed welding bays giving Newarc the capability to offer a wide range of welder training courses and to conduct onsite demonstrations to potential customers .
Newarc will be proudly celebrating the last 50 years of British history by unveiling their brand-new design at MACH this year . The classic orange and blue skins are being shed in favour of a chic new grey and navy - and to endorse their British heritage , a new patriotic logo will appear on the side panel of every machine . After an outstanding half a century , Newarc is well set to affirm their place globally within the welding sector for many years to come .
