Coborn ’ s New Dual-Purpose Table Lapping and Wheel Preparation Machine
Coborn is delighted to introduce its new product , the dual-purpose TL1 machine , to the market . The TL1 may be used to generate the final cutting edge on SCD tooling after processing on Coborn ’ s PG3B , PG4 or PG6 Planetary Grinding machines , or it can be used to prepare a grinding wheel before use .
As the process of preparing a grinding wheel correctly takes a great deal of time , anywhere between a day and a half to four days , this ties up the premium PG machines which reduces the amount of tools being produced impacting profit . In order to be able to obtain the required surface finish on the tool , preparing a wheel correctly is extremely important . The TL1 has been designed with this particular task in mind and offers a cost-effective solution to dramatically improve productivity .
The relatively low cost of the TL1 makes it an attractive alternative as it allows the PG machine to remain producing tools while it performs the crucial wheel preparation .
The TL1 replaces the need for skilled , manual bench work and is ideal for SCD tool repair , wheel preparation and final cutting edge SCD tool processing . The TL1 is easy to use and does not require any specialist training .
The TL1 may be used in conjunction with Coborn ’ s Planetary Grinding Machine ranges for processing SCD tools , which are illustrated below .
