MEASUREMENT & MONITORING THE WG20 MOTOR SERIES WEG Energy saving motors to exhibit at MACH 2020 Leading mechanical equipment manufacturer, WEG, will exhibit its extensive range of motors, drives and soft starters at MACH 2020 in Hall 7, booth 727. As the UK’s largest manufacturing show, MACH is held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham from Monday April 20 to Saturday April 25, 2020. At the show, WEG will exhibit the WG20 motor series, the first geared motor range to be entirely developed in-house at WEG. Comprising helical, parallel shaft and helical bevel gear units, the model boast torques between 50 and 18,000 Nm. Manufactured with a light aluminium housing, the WG20 motor delivers high efficiency performance, without compromising on its sophisticated design. In fact, the cleverly designed aluminium housing of the WG20 motor enhances its energy efficiency. By improving heat conductivity, the housing encourages heat dissipation from the motors internal parts and prolongs its lifespan. WEG will also exhibit the W22 3 phase motor. This motor range has been developed to provide high levels of performance while also delivering maximum energy efficiency. The motor includes a newly developed cooling system, which has been redesigned to provide improved air flow through the motors frame to maintain a low operational temperature. A range of W22 motors for standard use, as well as the W22Xd for use in explosive atmospheres will be showcased at the stand. For customers seeking motors for aggressive applications, WEG representatives will be available to explain how the intelligent design features of the W22Xd, such as the exclusive bearing sealing system, makes it an ideal product for these environments. The W22Xd version has evolved specifically for deployment in explosive atmospheres. Building on the same design concepts as the successful W22, the W22Xd encompasses a new frame design, which ensures higher mechanical stiffness. Redesigned end shields have also been introduced to reduce bearing operating temperatures and therefore decrease the frequency of re-lubrication. “Manufacturers are increasingly looking for ways to improve the energy efficiency of their facilities — and many machine builders will be seeking products to achieve this during their visit to MACH 2020,” explained Marek Lukaszczyk, European marketing manager at WEG. “WEG’s range of industrial motors ensures factories can achieve their ambitious efficiency goals, without compromising on the performance of their equipment or dramatically increasing costs. “In fact, the WG20 geared motor provides an optimal programme for lowering operational costs. Due to the standard mounting dimensions, users benefit from easy interchangeability without the need for system conversion. Moreover, the WG20 can be switched to different voltages around the world and meets many certifications for international markets.” Alongside the WG20 and W22 motor series, WEG will also exhibit products from its extensive range of drives and soft starters.
