ELECTRONICS
Don’t be held back by a part number
With an impressive selection of over
25 industry-leading brands and several
new product ranges added to Rhopoint
Components’ portfolio in 2019, they have
taken steps towards serving the ever-growing
demand for customised solutions in the
electronics industry. Off-the-shelf products no
longer sufficient and using a close-enough part
often means a compromise elsewhere.
Rhopoint Components represent carefully
selected manufacturers who can satisfy this
market shift, while continuing to serve the
industries where the flexibility and high quality
have always been important. Whether an
unusual package, resistance value, tolerance
beyond the datasheet values or specialist
terminations, Rhopoint Components offer
customisation on the vast majority of their range
of passive and active electronic components
as well as pressure, temperature and liquid
level sensors. Custom components can be
surprisingly cost effective – often in line with
the standard models, in addition to saving cost
elsewhere in form of saved board space or
eliminated need for an additional component.

design with the right components, contact their

Compact, multi-wavelength LED
solar simulation
The Model 6000B-100 from Innovations in
Optics, Inc. is a compact, multi-wavelength LED
solar simulator for PV manufacturers meeting
IEC 60904-9 Class AAA requirements for
spectral match, non-uniformity of irradiance and
temporal stability. The 6000B-100 includes a
digital driver/controller with MODBUS protocol.
Embedded chip-scale spectral sensors
provide feedback monitoring to stabilize
source irradiance. The field of illumination
is 50 x 50 mm at a working distance of 155
mm. The compact and lightweight design
supports a diversity of system integration
concepts. Consuming only 15W of input power
to produce 1 Sun of irradiance, the 6000B-
100 is energy efficient and simplifies any
thermal interface or active cooling scheme.
The product is intended for industrial use by
qualified system integrators.

Whippendell
Whippendell specialises in providing electrical
solutions for harsh environments such as the
Rail, Naval and Commercial Marine Industrial
Sectors. This includes design, manufacture,
in-service support and maintenance.
For example, the company has been
supporting the Royal Navy since the 1930s,
with equipment on all current surface ships
and submarines. We offer a range of electrical
panels, motor starters, control systems, power
conversion equipment and aircraft ground
power support systems.
Many of our solutions arise from a reverse
engineering task to replace obsolete systems
with modern alternatives. Typical applications
include high pressure air control systems,
pumps, steering gear, stabilisers, lifts, winches,
mechanical handling equipment and HVAC
systems. Solutions can be designed around
Whippendell components or to customer
preferred requirements and components –
use of COTS and PLC technology is standard.

New safety lock out for mains
cut outs
Now available from Martindale Electric –
leaders in safe isolation and electrical safety
– is the new LOK6W, a simple and effective
locking off device for Henley and Lucy mains
supply cut outs.
Designed to restrict finger access to live
contacts and prevent the reinsertion of a fuse
whilst maintenance is in progress, the LOK6W
is an essential accessory to keep electricians,
installation teams and their customers
safe in accordance with Electricity at Work
Regulations.
In common with the LOK6, the new LOK6W
features an extendable design which also
makes it suitable for larger Red Spot type fuse
holders rated at 63A and 100A
