THE HEALTH AND SAFETY EVENT
The UK’s flagship event for health and safety
returns to the NEC Birmingham
Taking place on the 28-30 April, The
Health and Safety Event will return to the
NEC Birmingham. It is the annual meeting
point for health and safety professionals
to share insights and discover the newest
solutions to help them achieve their goals
in creating a safer workplace.
With a focus on promoting and improving
health and safety standards, education will
be at the heart of the event. Supported
by industry leading bodies including AIF,
BOHS, HSE, Energy Institute, NEBOSH,
UKATA, IOSH to mention a few, British
Safety Council will also be returning to
deliver their conference to help raise the
standard in health and safety management.
With 150+ hours of expert led content
and CPD accredited, the agenda will be
packed with practical guidance, support
and advice so delegates can come away
with the tools they need to implement in
their own workplace.
CPD ACCREDITED EDUCATION
PROGRAMME
The British Safety Council Conference will
be opened by the new Chief Executive of
HSE, Sarah Albon. Her keynote will outline
the regulator’s role in ensuring senior
management leadership on health and
safety within an organisation, as well as
HSE regulator’s future focus and strategy.
Sarah Albon will also finish her keynote
session to observe a minute silence
at 11am to commemorate the Workers’
Memorial Day. Held on 28 April every
year and officially recognised by the UK
government, we will remember those who
were killed and injured at work. Across
the three days you will have the chance
to hear about wellbeing in the modern
workplace, risk management and new
regulatory changes and significance of the
regulatory framework.
The Knowledge Exchange, sponsored by
Southalls will feature a panel of industry
experts to cover topical issues and
challenges facing HS professionals today.
Sessions include promoting health and
wellbeing, working from height, mitigating
the risk of mental ill-health, health
implications of asbestos and hearing
protections to mention a few.
Working in partnership with Lone Worker
Safety Live, the Lone Worker Theatre will
be hosted by Nicole Vazquez and will
address the key issues of safety, security
and wellbeing. Attendees will have
the chance to learn about the specific
challenges faced by lone workers and
come away with ideas and practical
strategies on how to assess and manage
the risks.
New and re-edited, the Safety Logistics
& Machinery Safety Theatre will offer
expert advice and guidance on this vitally
important area. The content programme
will tackle the key safety hot spots in the
world of warehousing and logistics as
well as safety whilst using machinery in
the workplace. Don’t miss key sessions
including maintaining safe production in a
smart factory, machine safety compliance
post Brexit and boosting your forklift safety
culture.
Exclusive to The Health and Safety Event,
we are delighted to announce a new
theatre HSE Connect. In partnership with
Health and Safety Executive (HSE), they
will be curating a dedicated programme
to equip practitioners with the training
and tools to meet the requirements and
professional standards in the workplace.
NEW FOR 2020
New for 2020, is the Machinery Safety
Zone, which is supported by Premier
Partners Pilz UK, Machine Safety and
Turck Banner. This dedicated area will
showcase the latest technologies and
solutions around this vitally important
area of the workplace and will also
offer specially curated CPD-accredited
content. Covering many aspects of
machinery safety including guarding,
risk assessments, training, digitalisation,

safety issues.
Another new feature is the Professional
Development Zone sponsored by HSE
Recruitment Network, will offer expert

future growth as a HS professional. Within
this interactive zone, you will also have the

will also be hosting a networking lounge
