FASTENERS & FIXINGS / FLUID HANDLING SD PRODUCTS INTRODUCING THE LATEST INNOVATION FROM KETTERER DRIVES The new short-stroke linear drive (KuLi) from Ketterer Drives and halstrup-walcher is characterized by high dynamics and a large stroke with a compact size. Thanks to the integrated electronics, the drive is much easier to control than pneumatic cylinders and considerably less expensive when the entire product lifecycle is considered. The new electrically operated linear drive is extremely compact and highly dynamic. With a length of 82 mm the stroke is 40 mm, which can be traversed in less than 100 milliseconds. The standard version of the KuLi offers thrust forces of up to 300 N. Depending on the task, it is possible to select the stroke speed, stroke force, stroke length and mechanical connection to suit the application. The drive is especially suitable for use in automation and conveying technology as well as in the construction of special machines, where the use of pneumatic cylinders has been widespread until now. Unlike the latter, the KuLi short-stroke linear drive doesn’t require sealing and throttling equipment to achieve uniform plunger speeds. In addition, all auxiliary components required for pneumatic cylinders such as hoses, valves, compressed air tanks and silencers are dispensed with. The short- stroke linear drive is thus considerably less expensive. A company achieves the greatest saving with the use of short-stroke linear drives when it dispenses with the entire compressed air system through the conversion. A complete range of Ketterer products is now available to UK customers through SD Products. www.sdproducts.co.uk LABTEX Labtex supplies leading laboratory products including HUBER liquid temperature control systems, DIEHM glass reaction systems to 100 litres, PREMEX and AMAR high pres- sure autoclaves, POPE wiped film or short path evaporators and distillation systems, Nut- sche filter dryers, BOLA labware in PTFE and other technical plastics, Vacuubrand vacuum pumps, ASECOS storage solutions for hazardous materials to BS EN 14470-1 and SICCO desicca- tors.
