failure per million hours of operation. They
have also been certified both IP66 and IP67 in
line with the latest standards.
DEVELOPMENTS FOR ATEX AND
IECEX SWITCHES
Pyropress has added new features to its
Perseus range of ATEX and IECEx switches for
use in hazardous areas which is now available
with a stainless steel housing for the first
time.
“We have added an adjustable differential
setting capability to the Perseus range of Exd
flameproof switches and Exia intrinsically safe
switches. It allows fine tuning of compressor
cycling in air conditioning and HVAC
applications for example and has other uses
where hysteresis control is required,” says
Stephen Burns, Managing Director Pyropress
Limited. “The same module allows two
switches with separate settings. There is also
the option of a second M20 electrical entry.
The Perseus range has been available with
only black anodised aluminium for 10 years
so introducing the stainless steel housing
completes the entire offering.
Pyropress are able to offer custom
switches and transmitters to suit different
applications across all industries and we hold
sufficient stock to manufacture millions of
combinations to suit specific applications.
The Perseus range of switches is available
in pressure, temperature, level and flow
variants and is fully certified to the European
ATEX 2014/34/EU and International IECEx for
explosion proof (Ex d) and intrinsically safe
(Ex ia).

They are available for operating pressures
starting at 0.4 mBar, for ultra low pressure,
vacuum and differential pressure and
reaching 800 Bar on the high pressure
range. Pyropress offers many options and
variants for applications where gas, vapour,
