Alloy Heat Treatment Gas Pressure Reducing Stations
Alloy Heat Treatment is the UK’s only specialist
in the heat treatment of aluminium alloys.
With more than 40 years’ experience as a
subcontractor, the company is focused solely on
heat treating aluminium products, rather than
other metals. It offers a range of treatments to
change the internal properties and strengthen
the aluminium product. From small, industrial low pressure systems
through to high pressure, high volume
distribution or power generation biogas or CNG
/ LNG systems, FT Pipeline Systems can supply
a skid-mounted gas pressure reducing station.
An additional choice of safety products ensures
a reliable, safe supply of gas for your required
environment.
Dudley-based Alloy Heat Treatment works with
a diverse range of customers, mainly Tier 2 and
3 companies in the aerospace and automotive
industries. The company holds NADCAP, AS
9100 accreditation, and preferred supplier
status to many companies such as helicopter
manufacturer Leonardo. Our 3D design service makes it easy to provide
the most efficient skid for your needs thereby
keeping the footprint of the gas station to a
minimum and facilitating its transportation by
land, sea or air with minimum installation time.

NEW from Solid Gear – the Onyx
Safety Shoes and Boots Nelson Automotive
rebrands as Avistud Denso Paste & 80mm Tape
Control Brunel Bridge Corrosion
Nowadays, good safety footwear is part and
parcel of a comfortable day’s work on site.
Combining maximum comfort and protection
with a robust and durable design, Solid Gear’s
Onyx is available as a shoe or a boot and ideal
for different types of on-site work.
This EN-accredited footwear has a modern-
looking style that integrates a seamless upper
and Cordura reinforcements with a poured
polyeurethane midsole, a breathable footbed
and strong rubber outsole for maximum grip
on slippery and uneven surfaces. Metal-free
protection comes from the fiberglass toecap
and penetration board for extra personal safety.
What’s more, the unique BOA Closure System
distributes the pressure of the fastened shoe
evenly across your feet to ensure a glove-like fit
all day for maximum comfortable protection. Global automotive stud welding leader Nelson
Automotive has announced a complete
rebrand of its business to customers,
stakeholders and industry peers. The newly
launched brand, AVISTUD, reflects the total
separation of the Nelson Automotive
business from the brand of its former industrial
parent Nelson Stud Welding. Nelson
Automotive was initially created as a standalone
automotive company following the sale of
Nelson Stud Welding from Doncasters to Stanley
Black & Decker in April 2018. Isambard Kingdom Brunels Swing Bridge was
constructed of riveted wrought iron plates
in 1849 to provide a crossing over the
entrance lock for growing vehicular activity
in Bristol Docks. It is a rare survivor of
Brunels Bristol work and predates the Clifton
Suspension Bridge. To hold back corrosion
in the early days linseed oil and resin based
paint coatings were regularly applied, but
after 50 years of neglect the Grade 2 Listed
structure has rusted seriously.

vehicles and faster manufacturing processes.”

Denso paste has been applied to the
underside of the ancient bridge’s 4m dia
forged iron ring to seal against water
entering the deep rust-pits. Then the 3mm
thick soft aluminium packers were wrapped
with Denso Tape, bedded on to the new
20mm thick steel ring. This was then jacked
up to bed on the underside of the old heavily-
corroded ring to provide a new track for the
bridge to run on.
