NORTHERN MANUFACTURING SHOW PREVIEW
PROCESS INDUSTRIES
NORTHERN MANUFACTURING & ELECTRONICS 2019
THE NORTH’S FOREMOST MANUFACTURING
TECHNOLOGY AND ELECTRONICS SHOW
Northern Manufacturing & Electronics, the
North’s foremost manufacturing technology
and electronics show, returns to EventCity,
Manchester on October 2nd and 3rd. With
around 250 companies expected to take
part this year, an anticipated 3,000 visitors
can expect to see a good number of familiar
faces, plus some exciting new companies
taking part for the first time.
Process industries are a hugely important
component of the North’s substantial
manufacturing activity, supporting a thriving
regional eco-system of specialist vendors
of both components and engineering
services. Located bang in the centre of this
most productive of the UK’s manufacturing
regions, Northern Manufacturing &
Electronics provides a unique marketplace
for engineers, industrial management
and procurement professionals to do
business. Since the first event six years ago,
Northern Manufacturing & Electronics has
become well-rooted amongst the region’s
engineering community. And, as the most
important industrial exhibition in the
North West, it also appeals to plenty of the
world’s best-known machinery producers.
Live demonstrations of all the most recent
solutions from 5-axis machining to laser
cutting and advanced manufacturing
technologies such as 3D printing give visitors
a great opportunity to see the hottest new
products from companies such as Haas
Automation, XYZ Machine Tools, Stratasys
and many others.
Nearly half of visitors typically have
components at the top of their procurement
shopping lists, and anyone travelling
to Northern with these intentions this
year won’t be let down. Examples of the
products and solutions on display for
2019 include membrane keyboards from
Calman Technology, TFT LCD displays from
Crystal-Tech Electronics, pressure sensors
and transducers from ESI Technology.
Luso Electronics will present a range of
power supply solutions from its global
portfolio of manufacturers. Highlights
include the newest modular configurable
units from Excelsys, including the leading
edge fanless design CoolX range. Other
popular products being showcased include
the complete range of Efore and Delta
Electronics industrial and medical PSU’s, a
range of medical and rail-specific models

from P-Duke, the 1U high-efficiency range
from N2Power and high voltage models
from HVM. There’s also custom enclosures
from CDT and rugged connectors and
cable assemblies from Fischer Connectors,
intended for applications, where signals,
high speed data and power need to be
delivered with 100% reliability even in
extreme conditions.
Regular exhibitor igus UK returns for 2019,
with its well-known energy chains, bearings,
linear guides, flexible cables, stock bar and
stock plate materials. Igus’ maintenance-
and lubrication-free products are designed
to cut costs and increase the service life of
modern machinery by offering enhanced
corrosion, wear, environmental and debris
resistance over traditional materials.
Optimas Components will highlight its vast
range of C-class components, including
plastic and metal fasteners, caps and plugs,
PCB accessories and cable management
products. The company now also provides
a range of personal protective equipment
(PPE), work wear, tools and safety products
within its maintenance, repair and overhaul
(MRO) product offering.
The exhibition is supported by the two main
regional aerospace and automotive business
bodies, the North West Aerospace Alliance
(NWAA) and the Northern Automotive
Alliance (NAA), alongside a number of other
important national bodies, for example
Composites UK, the SMMT, the GTMA,
the BGA and the CBM. Each will bring a
great deal of specialised knowledge and
expertise to the show, providing both a
highly-approachable industry resource and
the knowledge-sharing opportunities of
the show’s popular free technical seminar
programme. Spanning a busy two-day
programme, a roster of high-calibre speakers
including award-winning authors and
academic authorities as well as experts from
industry and trade associations, will tackle a
wide range of technical and business topics.
As with the event itself, admittance to the
seminar sessions is free of charge of charge,
which makes this an excellent chance to hear
world-class speakers discuss the most topical
ideas in manufacturing, engineering and
industrial management. A full list of sessions
can be found on the show’s website www.
