AUTOMECHANIKA SHOW PREVIEW NEW INITIATIVES AUTOMECHANIKA INNOVATION KEY THEME OF AUTOMECHANIKA BIRMINGHAM 2019 Automechanika Birmingham has announced that “Innovation” will be the leading theme for the 2019 event, held at Birmingham NEC on 4 to 6 June. Aftermarket Power Network and ‘The Big UK Garage Event’, as well as the Future Mobility & Innovation Hub, all designed to deliver an enhanced visitor experience. Following extensive Automechanika Birmingham research, “new technology and innovation” were key reasons to attend the event for visitors and so Automechanika is looking to build on this by highlighting all innovation from within the automotive industry. “2019 is the last year before the show goes biennial, so there has been a surge in the number of space bookings to ensure the latest products, services and technology are showcased to the market before 2021.” This is all in addition to the automotive industry’s largest seminar programme, which will feature seminars across Aftermarket and Vehicle Production sectors, comprising both business and technical advice and information. In addition, the visitor campaign is off to a record start with pre-registrations up thanks to the new features and initiatives, designed to offer the very best visitor and exhibitor experience.   This year’s event will see the launch of many new points of interest covering all aspects of the automotive industry, including: A new Bodyshop Zone, Aftermarket Innovation Showcase, Remanufacturing Showcase, Jack Halliday, Event Director of Automechanika Birmingham, explains: “We’ve experienced a high demand from companies wanting to exhibit that will really boost the appeal for visitors coming along this year. With the number of registrations having already exceeded targets, there are currently over 2,000 visitors who have signed up to attend the event, including more motor factors and garages, an increase of 21% compared to this time last year. 48 PECM Issue 38
