STORAGE, HANDLING & DISTRIBUTION Retran® complies with new government environmental legislation In the October budget, Chancellor Philip Hammond announced the introduction of a tax on plastic packaging that uses less than 30% recycled content. The new Retran® product supplied by Bell has a 70% recycled content which more than satisfies the planned legislation. This material is used to produce Retran® tubing, PET folding cartons, clampacks and formed inserts. Retran® is available in a standard range so great prices with no tooling or origination costs. Many of the standard sizes are kept in stock so delivery times are really quick. Bell are one of Europe’s leading suppliers of Retail promotional and presentation packaging. The industry-leading centre, sponsored by Lloyds Bank, is to provide training for 300 high quality apprentices a year by 2020. AMTC apprentices are trained though a mix of traditional skills complimented with modules of advanced manufacturing and are exactly what manufacturing industry is looking for to fill the high-tech jobs of the future. AMTC apprenticeships have the advantage of not being company or sector-specific, so the result is a fully-rounded apprentice capable of filling the most demanding of manufacturing and engineering positions. The apprentices are fully tutored in work behaviours and engineering basics, but are also exposed to the latest manufacturing technology. the-amtc.co.uk 140 PECM Issue 36 Good engineers understand the challenges and work environment of their customers- the plant operator. Traditionally used by plant operators, forward thinking companies are using simulation to train their engineer staffs to be better engineers that have an operational perspective. Simulation training is typically time and resource constrained, but EnVision On- Demand provides anytime, anywhere access to content used by the world’s largest oil and gas companies. Our simulations provide plant engineers with a foundational understanding of upstream and refining processes so that their design decisions drive true operations value. www.gses.com/envision Portable Rigging Kit Moves Materials and Equipment Up to 34,000 lbs AeroGo Inc., offers a portable rigging kit to move machinery, material, and equipment up to 34,000 lbs.
