Also on the stand will be the DTS2 driven
track system, suitable for a packaging
application that requires high positional
accuracy and a demanding duty cycle. It
can form the foundation of an automated
production cell, to guide and transfer a
component around the system between
high speed automation of assembly
processes.
Southern is also one of the UK’s most
important shows for machinery
manufacturers. The live machinery
demonstration area will see the
latest offerings from many top-flight
manufacturers being put through their
paces. Citizen Machinery returns to
Southern Manufacturing for the first time
since 2008, highlighting two leading
manufacturers of CNC automatic lathes,
Cincom CNC manufacture sliding head
lathes up to 38mm in diameter, while the
Miyano range of fixed headstock lathes
has a bar diameter range up to 64mm and
larger billet sizes. Additive and subtractive
five-axis CNC machine tools and 3D printers
can be seen working in harmony on the
Matsuura Machinery stand to demonstrate
the production strategies now available
to UK manufacturers. The show will also
mark the first appearance of the MX-850,
the largest capacity five-axis CNC machine
the company has ever demonstrated,
using fixtures and work-holding printed
on the company’s HP Multi-Jet Fusion 580
colour 3D printer. As exclusive distributor
of Doosan machine tools in the UK and
Ireland, Mills CNC will demonstrate the DVF
5000 simultaneous five-axis machine at
Southern Manufacturing 2019 by machining
a complex, high precision aerospace
component live at the show.
