HUMIDITY SOLUTIONS SYSTEMS REDUCE GLUING
TIME FOR SPECIALIST FABRIC PRODUCER
Humidity Solutions has delivered a bespoke
humidity control solution to specialist
automotive supplier Uniroyal Global to
support the company’s productivity and
quality control.
Uniroyal Global supplies an extensive range
of products to automotive companies and
had recently won a large contract to supply
fabrics to one of world’s largest car makers.
Manufacturing these products involves
gluing different materials, which requires
precise humidity control to optimise curing
time.
Having seen Humidity Solutions’ Airtec
humidifiers in a similar environment,
Uniroyal Development Chemist Dr Sam
Hill invited the company to visit site to
determine the best solution. Having
identified optimum conditions of 60%
relative humidity at 23⁰C, Humidity
Solutions designed, installed and
commissioned a system comprising an
Airtec high pressure humidification system
serving seven Hydro Trio spray heads.
In order to fit in with Uniroyal Global’s
production schedules, the system was
installed and commissioned within around
10 days.
Dr Hill commented: “We are very pleased
with the quality of the system and support
we received from Humidity Solutions. It has
had a significant impact on our production
processes with curing time reduced from
three days to just 24 hours.”
The Airtec modular, high pressure
humidification system injects water into the
air under pressure through multi-directional,
fan-assisted nozzles. The high pressure
ensures the water is atomised and absorbed
rapidly into the air. The nozzle fan heads
are about the same size as a CCTV camera,
making the system very unobtrusive and
easily retrofitted in existing buildings.
